There is never any ending to Paris and the memory of each person who has lived in it differs from that of any other
— Ernest Hemingway

After college, I was given the opportunity to study photojournalism & street photography in Paris. It was the summer of 2018 when I set off to build a portfolio of images from daily life in the most romantic, beloved cities in the world. I found myself experiencing the most magical summer of my life as I traversed the city streets, lush with learning, luck, and admittedly, the Louvre. Little did I know that by the end of the summer, I would feel like a local and Paris would be etched onto my heart forever.

While this is a collection of photojournalistic images created in what I consider to be my formative years as a photographer, it is also crucial evidence as to how I see the world. And as it turns out, photographing Paris taught me instead to feel the world around me. The intense intuition I honed overseas has followed me through the years and has remained my most trusted sense. Photographing Paris also taught me that the bridge from my own perspective to the reality of the world must always be compassion—that’s the energy I bring to my client sessions and furthermore to my life.

If you see this portfolio and we end up working together, I want you to know that this is where it all began for me. And I’ve found that Ernest Hemingway was indeed correct… there is never any ending to Paris.

With love, from Mia
