Family photos are some of my favorites to shoot! I know they can be a major cause of stress within the family beforehand (especially for mom lol) trying to coordinate outfits, making sure everyone is in a good mood, and hopefully (definitely!) getting a beautiful Christmas card photo out of it. All stress aside, while we’re shooting we are having a blast. We’re chatting, walking, hugging, and quite often “fake” laughing… but my best-kept secret is that 100% of the time fake laughter inevitably turns into real laughter. Try it!

Family mini sessions
My 30-minute mini sessions seem to be the magic potion for a family shoot. Kids typically start losing interest past a half hour, so my minis are fast, furious, and lots of FUN. We run around and laugh a lot… it is rather magical.
newborn mini sessions
I prefer a more photojournalistic approach to newborn sessions. You won’t see me utilizing a posing pillow or newborn props, but instead focusing on the beautiful, tender moments between the family in those first few weeks of life.
